K-9 Deputy Kilo

            Kilo was brought onto the Sheriff’s Office on March 19^th 2005. She was purchased and trained by Midwest Canine Alternatives in Long Prairie, Minnesota. Kilo is trained and certified in narcotics detection, evidence searches and tracking. She is a 19 month old female yellow Labrador retriever. Since Kilo has been working she has participated in several residential and vehicle searches.

            Deputy Kilo was purchased through funds that were raised by Sheriff Sheets and Deputy Larsen and donations made by citizens of Poweshiek County.
