The Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of FULL TIME DISPATHER/JAILER. This position requires 12 hour shift work rotating weekends and holidays and the ability to multitask in a high stress environment receiving emergency calls from the public requesting law enforcement, fire, ambulance or other emergency services; determine the location and the nature of the emergency, prioritize and dispatch emergency units as necessary.  This position also requires successful applicants to rotate shifts in the jail working directly with persons incarcerated.
